WEBINAR: Episode 21 - #WhatIf... 1 in 6 of your employees are experiencing poor mental health?

Written by Luke Stamper | Apr 29, 2021 2:10:22 PM

According to the Mental Health Foundation, 1 in 6 people experience mental health problems in the workplace (14.7%). Research by Deloitte has also suggested that for every £1 spent by employers on mental health interventions they get £5 back in reduced absence, presenteeism, and staff turnover.

While much has been done in recent years around mental health in the workplace, it’s clear that some employers have left some stones unturned.

There is clear evidence that businesses that invest in mental health, particularly preventative measures, will not only reduce the cost of poor mental health but will actually see a return on investment.

To discuss this further, we were joined by the CEO of mental health charity, Chasing the Stigma, Jake Mills, and Mando Group’s HR and Wellbeing Lead and Managing Director of DEWA Consulting, Dee Walsh.

Jake founded the multi-award-winning national mental health charity, Chasing the Stigma, which he established following his own battle with depression and suicide attempt in 2013. Jake has also created the Hub of Hope, a ground-breaking mental health database that has since become the UK’s biggest and most comprehensive mental health signposting tool.

Dee is the HR and Wellbeing Lead at Mando Group, as well as the Managing Director of her own mental health and wellbeing consultancy, DEWA. When she’s not protecting the health and wellbeing of the Mando Group team, she offers open and in-house certified training courses and a range of services, from full strategy and policy implementation to content plans and workshops for HR Teams, Line Managers, and Mental Health First Aiders.
